| Each individual piece is made by the artist, in solid amalgamated wood, called M D F (Medium Density Fiber). The artist draws her design on the wood before it is carefully cut and sanded. The paint is applied both by "air brush" and with traditional paint-brushes, using acrylic or oil paints. Once this step is done, the artist proceeds to varnish the piece. The varnishing is repeated as much as six times, in order to protect the wood and give the piece a smooth finish. A very fine sanding is necessary between each coat. Each piece is entirely hand made and no two pieces are 100% alike. |
