The artist or draftsman selects each colour with the manual press operator. Each colour is printed on a separate sheet of paper. Some corrections are made during this process. The final image is created by the way colours blend in the different layers. When the artist is satisfied with the proof he/she signs this sheet and an edition of this image can be printed.
